What is satellite Internet?
Satellite Internet is a great solution for people who don’t have decent broadband, or simply don’t have access to traditional xDSL, cable, fibre, or 3G/4G/5G and need to connect to the Internet.
Satellite Internet access is as easy to use as any other broadband connection. Download speeds can reach up to 50 Mb/s and upload speeds up to 5 Mb/s depending on equipment.
The big difference is that our broadband Internet service is beamed to and from our KONNECT satellite in space, which means it works pretty much everywhere.
How does satellite Internet work in Rwanda?
Using satellite technology, Konnect can deliver fixed Internet connectivity to families at home, or to businesses in their offices, shops, or other sites across Rwanda.
Satellite Internet from Konnect works with a satellite dish, which must be installed in a fixed position, free from any obstacles to the sky and pointed towards our KONNECT satellite.
Once the dish is installed and the modem is activated, the satellite Internet allows clients to connect their devices immediately.
